Here we have beautiful elements of design in Zion National Park. The landscape, the moon, the lighting and the geometry of composition all provide a testament to the magic of Zion.
Here is some interesting information from the Zion National Park website: “Entering Zion National Park from the east entrance immediately reveals a colorful display of orange, brown and white slickrock that includes one of the parks landmarks, Checkerboard Mesa. The majestic criss-crossed mountain appears as a massive hill towering 900 feet above the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway and resembles a giant, extended chess or checkerboard. The left to right deep scratches are due to a north to south wind direction while the vertical cracks are a result of weathering, a cycle of freezing and thawing.”
“Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright
Infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing
Christ the Saviour is born,
Christ the Saviour is born.
Son of God, love’s pure light,
Radiant beams from
Thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.
With the angels let us sing,
Alleluia to our King.
Christ the Saviour is born,
Christ the Saviour is born.” ~The Temptations
Photographs: This is a series of stars and star trails – Zion National Park
This is a section of a large collection of peaks known as the “Towers of the Virgin.” This collection includes the West Temple, the Sundial, the Altar of Sacrifice, and Meridian Tower. Some claim they can see the shrouded figure of the Virgin Mary on the face of the central peak. This was a sunrise exploration.
The “Weeping Wall,” (below) is where groundwater, that has seeped 2,000 feet through sandstone from Echo Canyon, emerges to create a dripping wall. The “weeping” water was photographed in an alcove to allow a view of the lush vegetation behind the water.
All of us, at times, need to have the “courage of our convictions.” If an issue is worth fighting for, stand firm and allow your voice to be heard. Your authentic Self will validate your worth, your belief and your willingness to make a difference in our world and may be an inspiration for others. So, when you feel something is right and for the highest good … stand tall, believe in yourSelf and allow yourSelf to reflect the light of your integrity to support the cause. The challenge may seem like climbing a mountain upward leaving your breathless and exhausted. If so, experiencing your own courage during the process will be reward in itself.
These photographs were taken in different locations of the Virgin River in Zion National Park, Utah. If I had one word to describe both scenes, it would be PEACE. And, PEACE to me in these scenes says: there is beauty, there is softness, there is calmness, there is a magical flow, there is unity. This is my 2015 visualization for my personal life balance.
