“Joy and Love”

I always need to practice macro photography as it is a specialty and achieving depth of field is a challenge.  So, I practice by photographing flowers in my neighbor’s gardens.  After a rainy day, the droplets were still present on these flowers and the sky was still overcast for perfect lighting.  I hope these images inspire you to photograph your own flowers and notice their depth, beauty and magnificent design.  “Joy” is a Goblin Blanket Flower.  “Love” is a rose.  Both of these are my tribute to  the painting style of Georgia O’Keeffe.

“Happy”

These flowers are located on the side of a church in Lyons.  I have been seeing them every day for a few weeks and they make me happy with delight with each new viewing.  I soon realized that I started hearing myself sing the lyrics to the recent popular song by Pharrell Williams titled: “Happy” when I was walking by these flowers.  So, I offer you this song and delight for your day with these happy flowers.

“It might seem crazy what I’m about to say

Sunshine she’s here, you can take a break

I’m a hot air balloon that could go to space

With the air, like I don’t care baby by the way

Because I’m happy

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof

Because I’m happy

Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth

Because I’m happy

Clap along if you know what happiness is to you

Because I’m happy

Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do…”

“Celebrate Spring”

These are daffodils standing in their glory.  Their beauty and color brings joy and aliveness to my soul.  It has been a long and challenging fall and winter season across our nation. Many states have experienced unusual floods, tornadoes and bitter cold with extraordinary amounts of snow.  So, we must look around and celebrate the flowers now blossoming around us.  Their magical beauty and color are a welcome site.

“Summer Flowers #1”

pink poppy

This simply is a picture of elegance to me.  The softness and delicate color identifies spring and the new abundance of summer.  This particular photograph, and the below flower series, were taken with a macro lens which allows great depth of field with flower close-ups.  It highlights the detail of the flower – and almost its soul essence.  For me, nature photography reminds me of the spiritual nature of being.

“Springtime in Colorado”

 tulip

This is my first year living in Colorado and my first experience with spring.  The weather is very interesting as it can be 80 degrees one day and snow the next day.  So, I offer this unusual photograph which depicts nature and photography as both unique and extraordinary.  So, what do you think?  Could this nature photography art be a new fine art print offering in the New Images gallery of my website PeacemakersArt.com?

Soul Essence

Soul EssenceThis is one of my favorite nature photographs. People are always commenting about the backlit essence of the leaves. Many think that it is frost. However, this photograph was taken early evening during the summer and the setting sun behind the leaves highlighted its tiny hairs. I prefer to call this “Soul Essence” because one can see the true radiance of life that is displayed. You can view a larger image of this photograph in my
fine art prints gallery and my inspirational note card gallery located on my website PeacemakersArt.com.
