“Husky Joy”

We love our loyal companions.  My Nikki, the lead dog, smiles when she runs and plays.  It is always a reminder for me to be more playful and joyful in my life for my blessings and the beauty around me.

Check out the below video — “Husky Play” — My Nikki and her friend, Wylie, playing their version of Hide and Seek.

“Longs Peak in Fall Glory”

Longs Peak is the tallest peak in Rocky Mountain National Park as it is over 14,000 feet high.  It is the center focus of the park and can be viewed for various locations.  The featured photograph is the fall view from Moraine Park.  The below views were taken at Beaver Meadows.  Of course, my favorite is my beloved Nikki in awe of the majestic glory.

“Chasing Bubbles”

Remember the husky puppies?  Well, here are two of them at age 6 months.  “Zane” is chasing bubbles and is quite delighted with himself with each capture in his mouth.  When he chases bubbles, he jumps, he leaps and is quite agile.  In the below  photograph, it is quite noticeable that he looks very much like my beloved Nikki – a red/white husky with amber color eyes.  His brother, “Wiley,” is below and has distinct speckled coloring around his eyes.  Both “boys”  are so middle school in nature:  lots of energy, constant running and very rambunctious.  _DSC9427

“Service with a Smile…”

After publishing the husky puppy photographs in recent posts, some friends asked for current photographs of my beloved Siberian Husky – Nikki.  Well, here she is with her beautiful smile to share with all of you.  She is my loyal companion and was really quite resilient during and after the September flood here in Lyons.  In fact, I can say that she has been extraordinary with a new change in her behavior.  As most know, we were displaced from our homes for two months.  Once we returned, everything was changed:  the landscape, homes and people’s lives.  It seems as though Nikki sensed the change in her town and stress for everyone here.  Consequently, she has created a new “job” for herself.  She wants to walk on Main Street every day and greets everyone that she approaches.  She looks at people, flashes her smile and then waits…  Of course, people are enamored with her beauty and immediately stop, compliment her and start to pet her.  Nikki cuddles with everyone that she meets and before the interaction is over, they are smiling too and I think Nikki realizes this as well.   It seems as though she has become one with her soul purpose to bring comfort and joy to the lives of others with the pure essence of her personality.  She is being compassionate, caring and a source of inspiration and peace even for a few moments in someone’s day.  My Nikki is a role model for service to humanity … and, she does it with a smile!

“The Eyes of Love”

Here is a series of photographs of my beloved siberian husky, Nikki.  I have a fascination with the beauty of Nikki’s eyes.  Sometimes she seems so wolf-life to me.  Enjoy this portrait.  As mentioned many times, if you can focus on the eyes of an animal and create a sharp focus with them, it dignifies both the animal and the photograph.
