“Celebrating the Centennial”

Rocky Mountain National Park is celebrating 100 years of inspiration and nature at its best.  Anyone who knows me is aware that I was drawn to RMNP and Colorado by John Denver’s music – specifically ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH.

“…Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake

And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I’ve seen it raining fire in the sky
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply
Rocky mountain high…”

The land feels sacred as it conveys its life and flow through its images of peace and serenity.  Isabella Bird described RMNP best with a quote from her book  A LADY’S LIFE IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS “Everything suggests a beyond.”
