“Inspired by the Light…”

It is September and time, again, to honor all teachers and students beginning a new school year.  As a former middle school teacher, I know that each new year brings challenges and also hopes and aspirations for the potential of the children nurtured by a teacher’s tender care.

This September also marks the re-opening of  Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.  Children are returning to a new school designed with extreme safety and security measures to protect them.  As I photographed the Milky Way ,  I could not help being moved emotionally by the light, the stars as well as the vastness of the Milky Way in the sky.  In the moments of capturing these images, I thought of the principal, teachers and children of  the Sandy Hook Elementary School who lost their lives during the horrific December shooting.  I could feel them looking down on us all and sharing the essence of their soul consciousness  through the light and galaxy of stars.  I cannot help but believe that their collective soul essence will also protect the current children of the Sandy Hook Elementary School in their new environment- as light always overtakes darkness.   And, the night sky always helps us to remember this special loving soul family…  They will never be forgotten as their Spirits are timeless and will always inspire the hopes, aspirations and all that is good for the future of humanity.

These images of the Milky Way were taken at Rock Cut in Rocky Mountain National Park.  They were 30 second exposures at ISO 6400.  The golden sunset light at the horizon creates a special spiritual vibrance conveyed by these images.  The featured image has golden light highlighting “Longs Peak” – the highest peak in Rocky Mountain National Park – over 14,000 feet high.  The experience of photographing these images was indeed heavenly on many levels.

“Experience the Magic”

“Valley of the Gods” is a scenic sandstone valley near Mexican Hat, Utah.  The vastness of this land and its structures are magic to behold with the display of  morning light.  I know that I have shared this quote with previous posts, however, it is a blessing for a new day that always inspires me – especially as I experienced the magic of this beautiful morning.

“Welcome to my morning
Welcome to my day
I’m the one responsible
I made it just this way
To make myself some pictures
See what they might bring
I think I made it perfectly
I wouldn’t change a thing.”
~John Denver
