We love our loyal companions. My Nikki, the lead dog, smiles when she runs and plays. It is always a reminder for me to be more playful and joyful in my life for my blessings and the beauty around me.
Check out the below video — “Husky Play” — My Nikki and her friend, Wylie, playing their version of Hide and Seek.

“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”
“The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.”

The featured photograph is a walk in the snow around Bear Lake in RMNP. The above photograph conveys the wonderment of the mountains on the trail to Gem Lake. These images make me breathe and relax.
“The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us,

One just needs to look at the sky to imagine how windy and cold it was this particular morning.
I could barely stand. I could barely hold my camera. I could barely keep my tripod on the ground.
All the layers of my clothing could not keep me warm and my fingers were freezing.
This experience of extreme wind and cold gave me a deeper appreciation of our earth, climate and life.
This was a very cold morning at Horseshoe Park in RMNP. The blue hue of the photographs conveys this coldness.
It is not uncommon to find herds of elk at lower elevations of the park during winter in early morning.
